This is Bird Names' second release on Unsound Records, following up "Wooden Lake" and "Sexual Diner." Chicago natives, Bird Names are always entertaining and never what they seem to be the last time you saw them live. Cacaphonous vocals, Beach Boys-esque harmonies, and catchy hooks comprises 2008's "Open Relationship." This album could be the end of a particular way of operation for the band, but like any good open relationship there could many interesting opportunites ahead. Endearing, semi-psych from a band of local loons! On Unsound Records.

Upset The Rhythm
Chicago's BIRD NAMES are back with another album chocked full of bizarre yet catchy tunes. We're not sure how they do it really, but they somehow manage to sound like CAPTAIN BEEFHEART, VELVET UNDERGROUND & THE MONKEES all at the same time. There's a lo-fi element to their sound that reminds us a little of Ariel Pink too. Great stuff.
