The long-awaited 2009 debut of this "supergroup" (Alison Mosshart from THE KILLS, Jack Lawrence from THE RACONTEURS, Dean Fertita of QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE and White Stripe Jack White) and it is well worth the wait. Moody and doomy blues grooves with great riffs and awesomely dark and gothic vocals. Jack White (on drums!) kills it on every track, laying down a primitive but groovy vibe - this is damn near a perfect album start to finish. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Jack White & THE DEAD WEATHER are back surprisingly quickly with their second album. White shares vocal duties with KILLS' vocalist Alison Mosshart & the two compliment each other well. DEAD WEATHER blend 60's & 70's bluesy hard rock with garage in a way that seems effortless. The album is a crisp 35 minutes so there isn't much filler. Bits of WHITE STRIPES (obviously), LED ZEPPELIN, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE & PJ HARVEY can be found here & of course it has that Jack White swagger.

They would not be upset by a review that called them light-hearted either. One can only suspect they enjoy never being down, & hope to maintain a cheery musical arena in which to work.
