NOT METAL IN THE METAL SECTION ALERT!!! A very interesting debut solo release from MAYHEM vocalist & SUNN O))) collaborator Atilla Csihar. Through his travels, Atilla became obsessed with the Trilitons & the giant Monoliths of Baalbek, massive structures that pre-date Roman technology. Similar to the Pyramids, it's difficult for contemporary Westerners to imagine structures of this magnitude being built thousands of years ago mainly because the knowledge has been lost. Csihar made some recordings at the site & supposedly went into a trance-like state likely inspired by the incalculable history surrounding him. Repeating deep vocal chants, looped field recordings & mysterious electronic sounds present a very mysterious listening experience. RECOMMENDED!

Well, what do we have here? A full-length collaboration between WU-TANG's INSPECTAH DECK, ESOTERIC & 7L (who produced the whole record save for DJ PREMIER on "Let It Off") is what! Solid West-Coast-meets-NYC, lyrical hip-hop with a slightly playful nature if you consider the creation of the Czarface character who seems to be a MF DOOM-like superhero professional wrestler (we think). Guests on the mic are fine with us, too: MR. MUTHAFUCKIN' EXQUIRE, OH NO, GHOSTFACE, ACTION BRONSON, VINNIE PAZ, ROC MARCIANO & more!

2013 release from London's DAUGHTER. Mellow musings that reminds us a little (vocally, at least) of CAT POWER but with production you might expect more from a UK act: legato drum-machine beats & synths weaving around the female vocals.
