such a beautiful film! there's so much about this movie to love, from the way internal dialogue is written such that it sounds both realistic and poetic, to reaffirming your faith in humanity despite how shitty life can be; but personally i love peter falk as peter falk, an actor abroad. rip, columbo! <3

"Beach Music" is an excellent album of lo-fi bedroom pop from the Philadelphia based musician Alex G. This reminds us a lot of Elliott Smith with some hints of early 2000s emo like AMERICAN FOOTBALL.

This 2022 album from Alex Giannascoli takes on a more pious approach (as the title implies), adopting a tone of semi-serious, semi-tongue-in-cheek evangelical fervor to explore real concepts of forgiveness, love, morality and redemption. This is perhaps the crispest sounding ALEX G record to date, with the disparate styles of country, indie folk and emo transmiting thru clearer than ever. A totally unique record. EXCELLENT!

Alexander Giannascoli aka Alex G has now changed his name to (Sandy) Alex G & this is the first record under that new name. Lo-fi indie rock that reminds us of Elliott Smith, early PAVEMENT, SEBADOH etc...

"Centipede Hz" is the 9th album from the Baltimore group ANIMAL COLLECTIVE. Over the past years these guys have faulted into the upper echelon of indie rock, a tier that few other bands exist in including RADIOHEAD, FLAMING LIPS, BON IVER & few others. "Centipede Hz" is raucous affair with seemingly every idea they've ever had thrown in. The tropicalia sounds of "Sung Tongs" are back but everything seems amped up here making this one of their most aggressive albums yet. This is maybe a little less accessible than "Merriweather..." but it's still an ANIMAL COLLECTIVE record through & through which will definitely please their adoring fans. Unique stretching of the vocal pitch, and large spreads of sonic synthesized sound come complete with aspirations to sound like SYD BARRETT's "Madcap Laughs" or the oft referenced "Pet Sounds" by the BEACH BOYS. One really can not go wrong with influences like that, in addition to the knowledge of their contemporary techniques. This is a mind bender of an album. This studio savvy duo have done it again!

Back down to the duo of AVERY TARE and PANDA BEAR, "Sung Tongs" is ANIMAL COLLECTIVE's much anticpated follow up to "Here Comes The Indian." A cacophanous psychedelic pool of sound, with primal drumming abstract vocal phrases, and frantic keyboard/guitar squeals recalling the works of BOREDOMS, OLIVIA TREMOR CONTROL, and BRAINTICKET, this is the sound of a chair turning into a thousand snakes. On My Animal Home and so HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
