RIDE guitarist Andy Bell has had a bit of a late career resurgence. RIDE was more or less back as a full time band for a few years & then the pandemic slowed us all down. Bell had the time to sift through years or unused recordings & has now released two solo albums in less than 2 years. Looking back on our lives can feel like a blur sometimes & that seems to be the theme here. "Flicker" features songs that go as far back as the 90s & the cover is a blurred photo of Bell from an old RIDE cover. In some ways this almost seems like a RIDE demos album & we mean that in the best way. Stripped-down, psychedelic pop songs with nods at his 90s past while still sounding fresh & almost even reborn.
