Over the past few years the band has impressed us greatly with their unique instrumentatin (spike fiddle, autoharp, bowed banjo & harmonium just to name a few) & they're brilliant vocals. Tacocat is back! The Seatle power punk band has a unique sense of humor & snark, as well as a sound that screams fun & joy. That doesn't mean sugar- coating the sadness, it just means coping with a little bit of absurdity. If you're into bands like Joanna Gruesome, or Anna Burch, or Diet Cig you'll probably love this.

THIS HEAT has been one of the most important bands of the post-punk era--SCRATCH THAT--of ALL TIME, but their work has been out of print, until the phenomenal boxed set, OUT OF COLD STORAGE, was reissued. This set was worth every penny of its somewhat exorbitant price and then some. However, not everybody could afford it, or maybe they already had one or two of the CDs in it. Well, the good folks at THIS IS/ReR have done a great thing and BROKEN UP the boxed set into individual releases. Until the boxed set was released, live THIS HEAT documents were either unavailable or out-of-print. This album, captures the band in a live setting, which is surely something any THIS HEAT fan must be seeking. Although the fidelity is low, this offers a rare glimps of geniuses at work. and a must-have purchase for anyone with eyes, lungs and ears! ESSENTIAL!!!

For those who don't know, these men are responsible for some of the most profound, dense, and startling music...dashes of avant-garde, dub, noise, tape loops, poetry spiels, etc. It's amazing to know that this stuff was recorded nearly 25 years ago when it sounds like it could have been made a fortnight ago.
