NEIL'S FIRST ALBUM! GET IT!

One of Neil's best, hands down. "Revolution Blues" supposedly about his brush with Charles Manson, written from the perspective of the 'Family'. Every track is great. You've heard Harvest and After the Gold Rush, time to dig deeper. BUY THIS

First studio album since '94 or so! This time out sees Neil returning to the subtle charms of 'Harvest' era folk tunes. Solid.

Biggest misconception about this record: Neil did NOT write "Sleeps With Angels" about Kurt Cobain. It was written before Kurt's suicide... though Neil would later dedicate the song to him. That's a fact, Jack.

Excellent collection of recordings from the legendary 1976 tour where Neil Young would open the night solo for about an hour before he & Crazy Horse took the stage for the rock portion of the night. These recordings were taken from the solo portion of the show from various cities that November & there's a few treats in here, mainly some of the loose interpretations of the songs & a few good stories, jokes & banter with the audience. We can't get enough of these archive releases & this is another great one. RECOMMENDED.

2008 entry in the oddly-numbered series of Archives releases, this one is a solo gig from 1968 with in-between-song banter intact. This show would have been just prior to the release of his debut record and showcasing his ease and rapport with the crowd, as well as his songwriting talents. While you wait for the promised box set, or if you want to feel like you were there, pick this beauty up. WARNING - DVD CONTAINS NO VIDEO, JUST AUDIO!!!

An interesting direction (diversion?) for Shakey - essentially a tape collage of bits from the 'Weld' record. No songs per se, but lots of howling feedback and random drum hits. This is actually better than it sounds - check it out!

Its daring and touching, and while its no "Harvest," or "Gold Rush," its a telling tale for such troubling times. ***Comes with BONUS DVD of "Greendale" performed live by NEIL YOUNG in an intimate acoustic setting***

The last few years have been a really great time to be a Neil Young fan & another "lost" album finally sees the light of day in 2022. Recorded in the early 2000s, "Toast" was hyped by Neil at the time as his next album then as has happened a few times with him, it was then mysteriously shelved until now. According to Neil, the album themes were based around marital problems he was having at the time & it was simply too painful for him to release into the wild. A few of the songs turned up on "Are You Passionate?" & have been played live but the versions here are alternate takes & there are a few songs that have never been released before. Early 2000s Crazy Horse was a ROCKING band & that's apparent right away. Quality wise this is up there with "Homegrown" & "Hitchhiker" which is pretty crazy if you think about it & it's definitely worthy of release. RECOMMENDED.

2021 is set to be possibly the biggest year yet for Neil's archive releases. We know of at least 3 that are coming & there are likely more. This 2CD set features the earliest live recordings of the "Ragged Glory" tunes in front of an intimate crowd in 1990. The recordings are raw & excellent sounding. RECOMMENDED!

NEIL YOUNG fronting PEARL JAM circa 1995 right in between PJ's Vitalogy & No Code. Eddie comes in for a visit or two. But it's a NEIL YOUNG album fer sure. Hired hands, doin their job, backing Neil.
