TYLER THE CREATOR WOLF (HAS MULTIPLE COVERS)
Odd Future
TYLER THE CREATOR is back w/ his sophomore effort WOLF. WOLF is a little different from GOBLIN, a little more mature (seriously), a little jazzier in sound, but still with the experimentation that makes TYLER a special producer. Not for the faint of heart or the easily offended, TYLER comes from the school of EMINEM, & PHARELL (N.E.R.D.) who has a guest appearance here... OFWGKTA & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. WOLF EYES BURNED MIND
SUBPOP
Sub Pop debut for this Ann Arbor, MI noise group. After releasing a bunch of horribly limited edition cassettes, CDS, LPS, etc... WOLF EYES has the luxury of abusing the ears of the masses with a proper "major indie" release. Probably the noisiest thing you can download from I-Tunes. Available at: Belmont Used CD
$4.99
WOLF EYES HUMAN ANIMAL
SUBPOP
OK, I've been a fan of death metal since 8th grade. 8th grade was about 13 years ago for me, and I've heard a lot of supposedly "scary" death metal since. WOLF EYES is scarier than just about every one of those bands. You know when you watch a horror movie (usually a newer one) and the main character/the character that's about to be hacked into pieces is walking down some sort of dimly lit hallway? Then, there's some sort of really, really quick flashback or fast activity on the screen and the soundtrack goes from eeire to really harsh and abrasive for about one second? That's what WOLF EYES sound like all of the time. Easily scarier than most death metal bands, and more abrasive than just about any other band from any other genre that I can think of, Human Animal is RECOMMENDED! Available at: Belmont and Loop Used CD

WOLF EYES NO ANSWER: LOWER FLOORS
DESTIJL
The mighty WOLF EYES ARE BACK! Since their last album, a line-up change has occurred--MIKE CONNELLY has left the band and his replacement is wildman CRAZY JIM BALJO, on guitar. The new sound is absolutely mind-wrecking, retaining signature elements while keeping things unpredictable. Slow, ominous experiments unfold, immersing listeners in a frightening space. Elements of dub, noise, text, punk...this is a great new album that people are going to absolutely love. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Available at: Milwaukee Ave Used CD

WOLF PARADE APOLOGIES TO THE QUEEN MARY
Sub Pop
If Arcade Fire were Quebec's Beatles, Wolf Parade would be the Rolling Stones. So please, sit down & meet MOn- treal's newest hit makers. Of course there's no escap- ing comparison to Arcade Fire, but the music of Wolf Parade contains much more grit & raw emotion. The over- driven straight-forward drumbeats, heavy keyboard riffs, aggressive guitar sound & a Frank Black howl we haven't heard since Modest Mouse's The Moon & Antarctica make this a record to be reckoned with in 2005. On top of that, most of the tracks were produced by Sub Pop A&R man & Modest Mouse lead vocalist Isaac Brock. It's no wonder that this record is FORTEMENT RECOMMANDE! Available at: Belmont New CD
$12.99

WOLF, PATRICK BACHELOR
NYLON
Electronic bursts, Depeche Mode-like vocals, dark ballads, and even some chamber elements make up Patrick Wolf's fourth album immaculately described as being [a] "nightmarish cradle of apocalyptic techno-chicanery." Brooding, yes. Theatrical, yes. Over the top, possibly. BUT so are some of the groups Wolf is seemingly influenced by or referencing like Depeche Mode, Antony & the Johnsons, and even Nine Inch Nails. On the Nylon Records imprint. Available at: Milwaukee Ave Used CD
$4.99
WOLF, PATRICK MAGIC POSITION
LOWALTITUD
Singer/songwriter PATRICK WOLF ditches the typical singer/songwriter gimmick of a sad man and an acoustic guitar (not that he ever really had that gimmick to begin with) and picks up the tempo a little bit with danceable electronic beats, a number of happy-sounding cuts (as well as a few sad ones), & a style all his own, really. Available at: Milwaukee Ave Used CD

WOLFE, CHELSEA ABYSS
SRGENT
CHELSEA WOLFE has been open about her sleep paralysis and she often uses that to her advantage with her music. Most especially on her fifth album, Abyss, where she confronts the boundaries between the conscious and unconscious and creates a hauntingly, beautiful release. As she desribes it, "the hazy afterlife..., an inverted thunderstorm..., and the dark backward... the abyss of time." Abyss will surely leave a favorable mark on WOLFE'S catalog. For the likes of ZOLA JESUS, PORTISHEAD, and CIRCUIT DES YEUX.We most DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this. Available at: Belmont Used CD
$8.99
WOLFE, CHELSEA BIRTH OF VIOLENCE
SARGENTHOU
CHELSEA WOLFE follows up 2017's thunderous "Hiss Spun" with a lighter (if no less doom-y) touch. WOLFE brings us back to her folk roots on "Birth of Violence" by leaning more heavily on the dynamics of her voice and atmospheric arrangments. The result is some of the most clear and affecting music she has written to date, as she touches upon her relationship to both physical and emotional pain, as well as her liminal connection to gender roles. CHELSEA WOLFE has been a Reckless fave for quite a while, so it should come as no surprise to you that this one is RECOMMENDED. Available at: Belmont Used CD
$4.99
WOLFE, CHELSEA PAIN IS BEAUTY
SARGENTHOU
Note: inner of digipak signed? YOU MAKE THE CALL Third album of beautifully delicate & mournful songs by Los Angeles' CHELSEA WOLFE veers in an electronic direction, but not completely. A very nice mix of analog instruments (including baritone clarinet!) & synths/programming that really works with WOLFE's splendid & ranged vocals. Think PJ HARVEY for a lazy comparison, but CHELSEA WOLFE is her own beast entirely. RECOMMENDED! Available at: Belmont Used CD
$9.99
