Efrim Menuck and the rotating cast of anarchist political chamber-heads have created something that sounds more like the Swans music-as-possession approach rather than the triumphant and escapist pieces of 1997s "F#A#8" and 2000s "Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven." We can still see the Godspeed collective with their heads bowed and choppy video footage flashing on them as they slowly burn through their characteristically lengthy movements. Godspeed's patience and willingness to go against the grain of popular trends is a comforting anchor in our day and age of glowing screen watchers.
