Featuring sixteen tracks, "Under Great White Northern Lights" serves as the soundtrack to the documentary film of the 2007 Canadian White Stripes Tour. The summer of 2007, shortly after the release of "Icky Thump," The White Stripes headed north from Detroit to embark on an ambitious journey across Canada. Meg and Jack played a show in every province and territory in Canada and filmmaker Emmett Malloy was in charge of documenting the trek which culminated with their 10th anniversary show in Nova Scotia. The fruit of his labor is a feature length film, also called "Under Great White Northern Lights," which has footage of Jack and Meg both on and off stage. This is exciting news for fans that have been waiting with baited breathe for a new album. Hopefully, this compilation of live material will hold White Stripes' voracious fans at bay... also look for the Limited Edition LP box set which is a real doozie.
