Rumored to have been inspired after Alasdair MacLean accidentally took LSD, "Bonfires On The Heath" combines the signature gentle meanderings of Clientele's past contributions with some soft psychedelic moments most apparent on tracks "Sketch," "Graven Wood," and "Harvest Time" (which sounds like some unearthed Buffalo Springfield track). Further solidifying the groups chamber pop dimensions is the Clientele's newest, multi- instrumentalist member Mel Draisey who also lends her backing vocals on a couple of tracks. Practically perfect arrangements and the warm atmosphere makes this 2009 album one of their best (and maybe their last??). For fans of Galaxie 500, Belle & Sebastian, or Air.

This album is alternately hypnotically rhythmic, adventurous, beautiful and strange. This album is culled from archives dating between 1979-1988. Fans of CLUSTER and their ilk will LOVE this. Dreamville's head honcho is back with another solo project, though for the first time since BORN SINNER Cole has invited a few guests to the studio to put some verses down. Cole has been known for going plat without a feature, but on The Off-Season Cole is intentionally going back to till some old ground. Even the cover art-work references his older works. With production on the record from an all-star cast this is the broadest sound Cole has gone for in quite some time.
