James Yancey aka J DILLA'S passing in 2005 was a big blow to the musical world. J DILLA made a name for himself producing for TRIBE CALLED QUEST & latter for working with THE ROOTS, MOS DEF, MADLIB & many others. His all instrumental album "Donuts" proved to the world what a genius J DILLA was & showed us all what we we would miss. Fortunately DILLA was a workhorse despite his illness & besides "Donuts", there's two more posthumous records out there including "The Shining" & an album to be announced in the future. "The Shining" is more of a straight forward hip-hop album full of J DILLA'S brilliant samples with some help from MC's like BUSTA RHYMES, PHAROAHE MONCH, MADLIB, D'ANGELO & much more. So DILLA'S story isn't entirely a sad one, music fans from now will absorb these beats & sounds & remember a very talented man.
