Also included on this version is a killer live version of "Holy Mountain" Long-time SLEEP artist Arik Roper has designed a new cover especially for the reissue. We're not going to lie, there was a little bit of drama with this record back on it's release date of 4/20/18 but now that the weed dust has settled, we can happily report that the first SLEEP album in nearly 20 years is freaking' awesome. The album starts off with a noisy guitar feedback improv, then perhaps the best recording of bong hit ever put to tape interrupts & the band explode into the mid-tempo stoner doom that they are now famous for. NEUROSIS drummer Jason Roeder makes his recording debut with the group & his looser, almost jazzy style is a welcome addition to the sound. Yes there are plenty of lyrics about smoking grass & riffs that don't sound particularly special at first until you realize that they've been in your head all day. Comeback records can be tough & admittedly they often aren't that good but this actually might be one of the best SLEEP records yet. If you don't believe us, sit back, take a big hit & we think you'll be convinced. Easily one of the best albums of 2018 & RECOMMENDED
