What can anyone say about EMBRACE to truly convey their importance? Put it this way: there was a punk scene before EMBRACE & a punk scene after EMBRACE and the difference is a monumental one.Members of MINOR THREAT & the almighty FAITH joined forces in 1985 and recorded what would be the blueprint of sorts for all "emo" bands to follow.Along with RITES OF SPRING & IGNITION,EMBRACE managed to transcend their "revolution summer" in DC & left an unparallelled mark within the punk scene.Members later went on to FUGAZI and you know the rest of that story...on DISCHORD.

New Age is king at Reckless these days. A few reissues this year have particularly tickled our fancy including Light in the Attic's "I am the Center" compilation, Numero Group's Iasos collection & the Kat Epple & Bob Stohl reissue "Sanctus Spiritus." Now Finders Keepers have dug up more rare recordings from the California husband/wife duo & collected them in this beautiful sounding CD/LP. The duo were master synth programmers & were often commissioned to teach programming classes along with their busy schedule composing soundtracks & special effects for tv & film. Despite being quite popular in the new age realm, the duo preferred the term 'space music' which you have to admit makes it all even cooler right? The sound is a mix of new age & late 70's/early 80's horror & sci-fi soundtracks with tasteful synth programming, fuzzy guitar solos & heavily effected flute. If you're into any of the stuff that we've mentioned above as well as SENSATIONS FIX, John Carpenter, the Kranky label etc... then you'll love this.

Composed of many soundtrack samples along with original arrangements and soap opera style music. The record is expansivley comprehensive juggling lyrics about raising his daughter, how folks prefer Slim Shady over Marshall Mathers and of course trials with his momma. Theres no metaphor or imaginary stand ins like Stan. This record isn't Slim Shady or Marshall Mathers....its all EMINEM. Sooooooooooooooooo RECOMMENDED
