DUCKS LTD. - a Toronto-based duo with roots in the Australia, UK, and Midwest music scenes - are back with this follow-up to their assured 2021 debut LP. On 'Harm's Way' they nail the classic CARS/STROKES trick of making every instrument part a hook - each chiming riff, bassline, drum fill, and rich vocal harmony are pure, sticky ear candy. And like all the best jangle/power pop, repeated listens reveal layers of aching melancholy beneath the sugary surface. PLUS, awesomely, this record was made in Chicago and features members of RATBOYS, DEHD, FINOM and MOONTYPE. Really good stuff - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We very much appreciate the first legit reissues of the back catalog by one of the most important original krautrock groups, the mighty HARMONIA. The group featured members of NEU! & CLUSTER & collaborated with Brian Eno. Their albums seem to just get better with age & they still sound incredibly modern. Like most of their contemporaries in the 70's krautrock scene, HARMONIA made their recordings with synthesizers & drum boxes & if they did use native instruments like guitars, those would be heavily processed too. Despite all of the machines, HARMONIA's music comes across as incredibly human & optimistic, probably because they were all a bunch of stoned hippies. These are some of the best German records PERIOD from the 1970s so do yourself a favor & grab these classics before they go out of print again. AS RECOMMENDED AS THEY COME!!!
