Yes!!! Drag City has dug up a real gem here. DEATH was a short-lived trio that only released one 7" back in 1975. Their music was influenced by all things Detroit from the 60's & 70's including MC5, STOOGES, the Motown sound & FUNKADELIC. Songs like "Rock-N-Roll Victim" & "Freakin Out" sound like could have been on the first BAD BRAINS album which wouldn't be recorded for 5 more years. Some of the riffs reminds us a little of THIN LIZZY, another rock band that seemed to anticipate the punk rock sound. Everything is top notch here, great guitar riffs, solid drumming (there's even a killer drum solo) & great vocals. These guys were really onto something & it's shame that they didn't put more music to tape but at least we have these seven songs. ESSENTIAL.

Standing out from the pack of sensitive indierockers like a fluorescent light, DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE's second full length continues where their debut, "Something about Airplanes" left off. Nocturnally haunting and sensitive vocals (most often compared to as a mix of Built to Spill's Doug Martsch and Elliott Smith) with intricate electric guitars chord structures, brooding drums and the usual PacificNorthwest moodiness that can't be escaped from any band coming from there. Really good, really recommended!!!!

With the artwork and the music, MC Ride and Death Grips pushes you and wants you to push back. Aggressive production and exasperated rapping feel like the musical equivalent of two middle fingers. Originally recorded for the major label, Epic, it was released by the band last minute... free. H.R. energy, NWA attitude, and existential crisis makes "No Love Deep Web" more than a eye catching cover but some of the rawest rap/punk/electro this side of the 20-teens. Those who enjoy the A$AP mob, Danny Brown, or Bad Brains should check this out.
