Reckless Records is a group of three record stores in Chicago IL. We carry new & used CDs, DVDs games and loads of Vinyl. Originally started in London, our first Chicago location opened in 1989. (LPs & 7"s). We would love to have you visit us in person. We are always looking to buy your unwanted CDs, DVDs, and vinyl. Please get in touch if you are interested in selling your collections. The lineup on this album is just as amazing as the other DEATH records, and features STEVE DIGIORGIO (ex SADUS, a million other bands), GENE HOGLAN (DARK ANGEL, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD) & ANDY LAROCQUE (KING DIAMOND). This album continued to morph DEATH's style from old-school death metal to more progressive, jazz- influenced metal while still retaining its heaviness. A total classic, for sure. 2008 album from DEERHOOF is yet another jangly pop record that stretches in all sorts of different directions, making their sound difficult to pin down. SATOMI MATSUZAKI's sweet vocals are similar to LAETITIA SADIER from STEREOLAB, but DEERHOOF's music relies on actual instruments instead of STEREOLAB's electronic leanings. Anywho, this album is quirky, sweet, & sometimes sour. Fans of the FLAMING LIPS or CRYPTACIZE (who contain a former member of DEERHOOF) should get into this. RECOMMENDED!!! 2012 reissue of this 2003 album looks exactly the same to us! One of the darker DEFTOENS records, for sure. These guys were always unfairly lumped in with the nu-metal crowd when they really had some serious chops & songwriting skills. Fans of QUICKSAND (whose bass player later joined the DEFTONES) or even a band like SHINER could probably get into DEFTONES' heavy, groovy, melodic sound. RECOMMENDED!! Heavily orchestrated west coast pop with hints of drugged-out beats, like a NANCY SINATRA on opium, or MAZZY STAR with more references to Grand Theft Auto.
